CLIMATE CHANGE LEADERSHIP TRAINING FOR POLITICIANS: Rebecca designed and now runs a Leadership Training Programme designed to equip new MPs with the skills and knowledge that they need to take action on climate change. A partnership between Green Alliance, Ashridge Business School and the Tellus Mater Foundation, the Programme launched in November 2009.

LOW-CARBON LAKE DISTRICT: This initiative, for the Lake District National Park Authority, aims to help the National Park formulate its response to climate change. Rebecca is developing a carbon budget for the National Park, working with partner organisations to measure and manage carbon, and intervene strategically to create a Low-carbon Lake District.

THE LAST PARLIAMENT: The UK's new Parliament has a historic responsibility. It is the last Parliament that can take action to avoid runaway climate change. The science tells us that global emissions need to peak during the current decade and decline steeply thereafter. This report, by a distinguished panel of experts, sets out an agenda for the new Parliament.

THE PROXIMITY PRINCIPLE: This report argues that housing and planning policy should be governed by the proximity principle: the idea that compact cities, towns and villages provide the best social, economic and environmental outcomes. Written for CPRE, it is based on qualitative research from four communities in Cambridgeshire and Tyneside, and was launched in May 2008, with coverage in the Guardian, Financial Times, Daily Telegraph, Daily Mail and Daily Mirror.

THE DISRUPTERS: A building services manager for a local council. A Cumbrian hill farmer. A high-end concierge service. And a Bath-based leadership coach. These are not the people who you would expect to be pioneering solutions to climate change. Yet each of them is responsible for innovations that could put us on the path to a lower-carbon society. This report, a collaboration between Demos and NESTA, profiles a small but growing cohort of innovators who are directing their creativity and entrepreneurial acumen towards environmental goals.
